Back in the 50's my old mate Bob Breedon used to come out with:

I went to the pictures tomorrow,
I took a front seat at he back.
A lady, she gave me some choc'lates;
I ate them and gave them her back.

I dare say there were a great many of these between the wars, on the wireless or on records.
