Allan C started it, in all innocence, with a thought much in line with what you guessed - wondering how he had inadvertently put the kiss of death on some good threads (as most of us have done). It had became a self-perpetuating joke (increasingly unfunny) when I saw it last (around the 150 posts mark) with endless suggestions on how to kill it. There will be many who contributed, including me, who hope it never sees light again. As for Allan C, I expect that Max and the Joe clones have put a price on his head by now. Don't know where they can transport him to, though. He's already in Australia.
