My favorite Moog story:

Some pals and I went to the apartment of a bass-playing buddy who had got his hands on a 3-rack modular Moog. The big boy.

He showed us how he had been playing around with subsonics, putting his bass cabinet on a table and fiddling with the LFO frequency until the table started walking across the kitchen. A minor change of frequency made it walk back the other way. More hours (adult beverage-assisted of course) finding all the cool things we could do with it besides music. Blowing out matches, making the hamster wheel spin by itself, etc.

Fast forward to the inevitable knock on the door by the two cute girls who lived below. They had been wondering what was making the light bulbs in their apartment explode, pictures fall off the wall, fridge open and close, and all the while they never heard a sound. Then they remembered the mad scientist who lived upstairs....
