Out of interest, Eliza, which W.African country does your husband come from? I only ask out of interest because I spent a bit of time, 20 years ago now, in Sierra Leone at Freetown University, where Valerie was Visiting Professor for a year and I did a half-term on my English folksong kick. Was there over Xmas/NYear, and learned to swim in the warm Atlantic off Lumley Beach at age of 60!
