Still have a couple of permanently swollen fingers; & I remember one great lummox who caught me off-balance just as I caught the ball & barged me in & then stumbled & sat on my head ~~ & the benighted ref gave it as a goal. He [the barger not the ref] was called Alfred Young, I recall, & we were at Cambridge together a couple of years later ~ funny the things you remember!
