It's a new month and I'm going to resume something I started late last summer and did until it got too cold outside. I had been jogging up and down my driveway. I'm going to start with walking for now as it's just too hot to breathe, let alone run.

I have the fridge packed with cold, cleaned fruit so it's easy to grab and cool off. I also did some major grocery shopping yesterday so the house is full of healthy food. :) It will make things easier. I seem to be of the mindset that there should be some treats in the house but honestly, none of the adults here need them. Fruit is sweet, it is a treat and we love it, so why not have it here and ready?

I saw my endocrinologist last week and my A1C has dropped 3 points and is almost in the normal range. She was very pleased and I was plain old ecstatic! I've been working very hard to bring those numbers down...both in what I've been eating and in keeping up with a RIDICULOUS 9 needle sticks a day....4 finger sticks and 5 insulin shots. It's alot but my body is responding FINALLY!!! It's all good and it's getting to be habit. I found a cute little quilted purse for under $20.00 that has several pockets, some of them big enough to accommodate my blood glucose monitor and my bag of insulin/needles, etc. I tend to forget to do my monitoring and shot when I'm out. Bad...but I'm working on it. :)

I have another yard sale coming up next weekend. I have not yet started boxing things up but that will start later today.

We're having a family picnic on the 4th and I have planned some healthy foods. What is everyone here doing?
