Andy Griffith's Martin D-18 has an interesting history. It was originally used as a prop in "A Face in the Crowd". Griffith talked the propmaster out of it when production of the film was completed. As a prop, it had been painted black and covered in sequins. He had a repairman refinish it and, in the process, the pickguard was removed and never replaced.
