The tiniest bit of salt may help cantaloupe, tomatoes and lettuce. Celery may need a bit more.

Not sure about watermelon, probably salt in minute quantity. Certainly not sugar.

Ripe peaches go well with sugar and a little water. Cut in wedges and stir, making the peach juice, sugar and water blend together.
