Franklin Delano Roosevelt! Thou shouldst be living in this hour!
America hath need of thee. . . .

I had high hopes for Obama, but I have been somewhat disappointed with what he has managed to accomplish so far. I'm fully aware that he has had a Congress that is Hell-Bent on blocking everything he has tried to do—and frankly, I'm not psychic, so I don't know what all goes on behind the scenes. Nor, for that matter, do others around here who claim they do, even though their information comes from sources like Livingston's Liberty Alerts and other Right-Wing and Tea Party blogs.

But Roosevelt had tremendous force of personality, and in similar circumstances—the country in the depths of the Great Depression and a Congress that tried to block everything he tried, he got us out of the Depression, put the country back to work, and instituted a number of regulatory agencies to prevent the Force$ of Darkne$$ from doing it all over again.

And NO, he didn't get us out of the Depression by starting World War II, like a lot of Republicans and other ignoramuses try to claim!! We were well out of it before Pearl Harbor.

I was there, and I'm an old enough Old Fart to remember!

It's taken Ronald Reagan and a bunch of other of Wall Street's puppets over thirty years to dismantle or render impotent the regulatory agencies that Roosevelt started, and

Surprise Surprise, look where we are NOW!

Roosevelt may have had to govern the country from a wheelchair, but that man could kick butt when he needed to!

I wish there were someone out there with whatever it was that Roosevelt had.

I'm sure as hell not going to vote for Romney. Kucinich isn't running, nor is Ralph Nader. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Ayn Rand's ideal world, and if he gets in, I'm leaving for Alpha Centauri, even if I have to swim all the way!

That leaves Barack Obama.

If anyone has a viable better alternative, let them speak out, or forever stuff a sock in it!!
