Bruce, The Tea Party is a subset of the GOP. In the beginning they were a bit of a coalition. But since 2010 they have been nothing but the fanatical branch of the GOP. We have the Greens and the Libertarians but they are a couple of percentage points, each.

The way I see it, before we have a third major party, which would be wonderful, then everyone who is not a fundamentalist-constitution-distorting-tax-is-of-the-devil-Koch & Art Pope sponsored lunatic, has to band together and defeat those who are.
