Sennheiser EW100 G2. UHF, lots of channels to choose from (including the few that will continue to be legal unlicensed in the UK in the future) never let us down, sounds good - but a bit expensive.

UHF mics are generally better and more interference-proof, if only because they are less common so you are less likely to have another in the vicinity.
