I called my next door neighbor this evening after I put an eggplant in the convection oven to bake and told her I'd show her how to make the eggplant dip called baba ganoosh (lots of different spellings for that). I gave her some a few days ago and she loved it (they'd been kind of shy about eggplant previously). So while it was roasting I cleared up the kitchen, emptied the kitchen waste into the compost, and had it looking pretty good when she came over. I figured it was one thing to give a sample and describe it, but it would make it a much more do-able dish if she saw how easy it is to make.

There was a heavy rain this evening, very nice considering we had only a ten percent chance today. It may dictate what I do tomorrow - I have weeding that needs to be done that will be easier with the ground soft.
