I just posted a collection of new guitar instrumentals called 'Down The Road' that some Mudcatters may find interesting.

The title track was inspired by research into the life of a family slave, which turned up information about a fugitive slave named Tom, apparently caught at least once. He gets away in my version. Other tunes include 'In My Father's House,' about struggling with dementia, 'Last Iraq Highway,' about military deployment, and 'Possum Got a Peg Leg,' a neo-old time tune.

These were recorded on a Zoom H4 in a chapel, and I think the sound is quite good. Guitar: Martin D-28. They're available to everyone for free at www.daveshiflett.com
