Sorry, I forgot to put that it was elementary school. It was a recording for fifth graders. As far as I know, there was no book, only the recording. I think its title is, of course, "Down by the River". I'm not sure but I think it was on the same recording as "Goober Peas". We also learned other folk songs such as "Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie" and "Git along little doggies" or something like that... I love the old folk songs.
