Like everyone else on this thread I have a mansfield guitar - it is an accoustic - a copy of a Gibson "Dove". it was purchased for me by my dad at Hutton's Music Store in St. John's, Newfoundland in the summer of 1974. I took it to Mt. Allison University with me, where one of the guys in my residence who came from Dalhousie, new Brunswick had a Mansfield "Hummingbird". Another guy from the same part of New Brunswick has an Ibanez bass, and I remember him saying something about a connection between Ibanez and Mansfield, but I never understood until now what he was talking about. My guitar has fairly high action and can be a bit painful to play - after all these years I am finally going to have it properly "set up". Thanks for all the interesting information about these instruments - far more than I had expected to find!
