But that's my point, I drink Pepsi anyway, so why not make 'em pay up.

I agree with you though, Zebedee. I hate to see advertising and commercialism win out. I think this advertising campaign was aimed at the holiday drink purchases. I'm already buying more soft drinks because I know I'll have company for Thanksgiving. So often decisions are made on a product being a few cents cheaper, or a promotion like this to "help music and kids", or just which product is placed on the end of the aisle. (That's why the groceries alternate the end aisle displays, and the drink companies do all the moving around and setting up displays for the stores.) But still, I buy Diet Pepsi when it's on sale, and Diet Coke when it's on sale. It's easy for me to clip the Pepsi Notes from the Pepsi cartons when I have them anyway. I most certainly will not change my buying habits. But I'm sure that this advertising gimmack will be a marginal deciding factor for enough people that Pepsi will increase their sales.

The real question for me will be if Pepsi is never on sale while they have these notes. If this is the case, I'll only buy what I would have to buy anyway to serve my guests who only drink Pepsi.

I think the point here at Mudcat is for anyone that happens to use these products anyway, take a moment to send in the note. Nobody should change their buying habits or choices.
