Reminds me of the first time I did a "coast-to-coast_ hook-up. A bunch of us were recovering from exams in the local, and singing those raunchy songs that seem to permeate grad schools the world over. Some guy happened in, heard us singing, and asked if we'd sing a particularly raunchy one to a friend in California. Turned out the guy had just gotten out of the navy, and didn't much care for his then ex-CO. Anmyhow, the guy called him on the phone, and the bunch of us "seranaded" him as only a bunch of inebriated grad students could do.
