The vast majority of criminals who commit acts of gun violence have no idea whether the current president is a Democrat or a Republican. They're poorly educated, uninformed, and totally apolitical. Associating them with the Democratic Party because they are of a social class in which their neighbors who do participate in the political system tend to vote for Democrats is like associating a turd with a UPS truck because they're both brown.
