My sister had a strange invisible friend called, apparently, Martin. He lived 'in the Black House' and scribbled on our walls with a crayon. Even if caught with crayon in hand, she insisted it was Martin who had vandalised the wallpaper. I went one better and had two, called Bobby and Linda.
