And while no doubt there are those who think such people are so much the problem that can't be part of the solution, it is hard to think of how anyone can ever become a chemist without being alert to the difference between alkene and alkane, or a art historian who confuses Monet and Manet, or a lawyer who doesn't understand that the precise definition of every word in a law matters. Precision and accuracy does matter, and it matters more the more advanced the level of study of any subject is.
