Contra Dancing or New England-style contra dancing is a form of dance where participants often form a line. (this is NOT the "boot Scootin' boogie" type of country line dance often done in bars) Some of the figures (moves) are similar to square dance, but contra has it's own style.

The music is always live and lively -- fiddle tunes, jigs, reels, and waltzes.

It is often said that contra dance is the most fun you can have standing up....
