In 1974, several friends & I from Kansas helped a guy in Iowa move from one town to another so he could accompany us to Wash DC for a meeting. (I had never met him before)

We were there several days and then we all went home.

In August 1975, I was asked to bring a friends car to Juneau, Alaska on the ferry. On my 2nd day in Juneau, I was downtown in a store when I heard someone say.."Bill?"...and there stood the guy from Iowa. Not only the timing to be in Juneau the same week, but to be in the same store at the same moment.


Then.... about 12 years ago, after I moved to Wash. DC area, I was visiting friends in the Seattle, Wash. area and went to downtown Seattle to see some fancy turned wooden art at a gallery. Two weeks after I got home, a woman I know in the local folk society asked me: "Bill, were you by any chance recently in Seattle? I was driving downtown and thought I saw you walking there."

It seems when I "go west, young man", people find me! Odds? I don't even want to know.
