Well, gnu, I've been using a Stoeger side-by-side 20 gauge with either 8 or 7.5 shot. Since there is no ejector, only an extractor, I have to either put the empties out by hand or put the muzzle up and get them to slide out. Of course, you start unloaded with the gun broken open. I put the shells in my vest (like a coat vest, not a hunting vest) right pocket, the brass ends all together so I don't have to waste a second or two fiddlin' with 'em...if I do it right I can put one between my index and middle finger and another between my middle and ring fingers and slip 'em right in. I could close the gun by a quick downward flip of the stock, but I worry about the parts if I do that so I just close the barrel normally, put off the safety as I raise it to my should, and when it's in line I touch 'er off.

You would have enjoyed the last shooter yesterday. He shoots blackpowder for both pistol and shotgun, so he raised the caplock shotgun to his shoulder, thumbed back the hammers, and fired one barrel. Lots of smoke and flame, but the target was untouched. Same thing for the other trigger...seems he forgot to load the shot!
