Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'No more days of school' (Kids song)
At both Northampton Town & County School, which I attended 1940-43, & Hendon County, 1943-50, it was "No more Latin no more French, No more whacks across the bench", though at neither of them was it the headmaster's practice to bend offenders over a bench for corporal punishment, but a table or desk.

The Ash Grove "Teacher a bunion" &c was widespread at all my schools, of which there were 7 all told. As I had a wartime childhood, with evacuating from blitz, I attended 4 different schools, with maybe 12 weeks off when should have been at school, between my 8th & 9th birthdays.
