Jean Redpath (mentioned above) dropped this 'treasure' on us Americans in the late 70s. Several of us in the DC area sang it at times...including one time when a lady at a singaround when asked for suggestions,said,"Oh..sing anything as long as it's not about dead animals.."

I think she got 7-8 in a row... mostly about cats.
