Rod Stewart had a big hit, but it's a far better song done as Tim Hardin wrote it. It's a quiet song, although I'm not sure it's the best song to sing to a girl friend (take a closer look at those lyrics). I used to sing this song and I still have Tim Hardin's version(with chords).
