The explanation is not too difficult, but it does depend on understanding how information affects probability. But it is very easy to carry out the experiment: you need, for example one red playing card, two black ones, and a friend to be Monty. Play the game ten times without changing your mind, then another ten where you always change your mind and compare the results.

Sometimes doing the experiment is more convincing than any amount of argument!
