I don't see these subtle distinctions. I think it is entirely a matter of the probability of the car being behind any particular door. You have to work this out from the information available. Monty's shenanigans have provided you with a little more information than "There is a car behind one of these three doors." The "general principle" is to analyse each situation as you find it.
