Thread Name: BS: Schulz's 'Peanuts'
Subject: RE: BS: Shulz's 'Peanuts'
Could someone please fix the spelling of Charles Schulz's name in the thread title? Thank you, Lighter, for spelling it correctly in your post -- it's soooo often misspelled. By his hometown newspaper in his obituary, f'rinstance. I'm sensitive because I share the spelling in my name (though I'm no relation that I know of).

I agree with you about the Red Baron.

And, as much as I love "Calvin and Hobbes", I ignore the Spaceman Biff panels.

Walt Kelly's Pogo is another classic that comes to mind. Way too sophisticated (in a down-swamp way) for a lot of people. I just recently inherited "Uncle Pogo's So-So Stories" from a great aunt who recently passed away. To add to my early Pogo collection.

Good social satire -- like when the Deacon tried to stamp our anti-Americanism and formed "The Jack Acid Society." ("Named after Mr. Acid?" "Well, it wasn't named before him.")
