There are unsung heroes who are talented and great all over the world. The music business only recognizes those who are promoted for business purposes.
There are Gypsy kids who play Django style in France who would blow you away.
I come across talented pickers all the time, who will never be recognized. Even those who are, such as the late Ted Greene who was a guitar phenomenon, was known to only guitarists and had the misfortune of not being an overt "entertainer". He made only one CD and the guitar playing is spectacular.

Not only the guitar world, but every aspect of the music field have brilliant performers of
whom you will never hear.

I remember when Woody Guthrie was not well known and "This Land is Your Land" was just another song.

You can actually make some money on the street playing and selling CD's. It's an alternative to the recording industry or promotion of music by the media.
