I don't think you get oil OUT. I used to get stains on my work clothes (when I worked with oily things) and always imagined if I soaked the whole thing, it would at least be the same color. Try some more pleasantly scented oil, and don't get too close to the stove. Or stop some kitty litter into it if the stain isn't a problem.
