I'll have to investigate my oral tradition, but I'm not sure if it was my mother or father who told me, or if I heard it on the radio, long back. It's not impossible that we are both right, but there would have to be some sort of evidence. We did have Poles here, flying with the RAF, and major players in the Battle of Britain - have to say that because of the rumours that Hollywood is writing them out. There may well be some people near where I live who could tell me, as there was a hospital occupied by Poles who stayed over here until recently - Solidarnosc (?sp) badges could be seen in the town during the changes over there.
