Ella Jenkins has done some wonderful stuff for children on the Folkways label. I don't think Dan Zanes gets the credit he deserves for exposing kids to traditional music. He has also recorded a number so songs from Carl Sandburg's American Songbag songbook.

John McCutcheon did four seasonal albums for children, Autumnsongs and I bet you can guess the rest. My favorite is the winter one, which has a song about soup and another about the dangers of licking pump handles. Oh, and McCutcheon has an album called Bigger Than Yourself that has some great songs to teach kids the values of trade unions. One called "The Principle" is a classic.

Harry Chapin's brother, Tom Chapin, has done some fascinating albums for children, and one with McCutcheon called Doing Our Job that is interesting but maybe more for adults.
