I've heard other stories about Santa's origin. I've heard that he was originally from Germany.

This is quite clear from the names of some of the reindeer. Donner and Blitzen, for example, mean Thunder and Lightning in German.

Unfortunately, Santa's Germanic origin has been denied by the English-speaking world ever since relations with the Germans took a nosedive in 1914. And that's not all! People in England were actually doing idiotic things like attacking Dachshunds after war broke out with Germany. Perfectly innocent little dogs were being abused in the streets of Londons by morons who couldn't think past their first kneejerk reaction to common national symbols.

It was tragic! But I digress...

Now, I have also heard that Santa Clauses are actually a separate species, a rare and very fierce primate that is found only in the remote wilderness of Lappland. Their proper name is...the Father Christmas
