"'Twas on a Night Like This (A Christmas Legacy)" by Cathy Baton and Dave Para on Folk-Legacy. Why? The musicianship is great but comfortable: hammered & mountain dulcimers, autoharp, guitar, banjo, fiddle, and concertina. The vocals are smooth and interesting. The song selection is great: none of the "Top 40" Christmas tunes that we've heard so many times we're bored with, but also, nothing chosen just because it's obscure. Nothing raucus, forced, cloying, or annoying: How many albums can you say that about.
