Ah, the Eastern Box, a fine specimen -- I believe it's Terrapin Carolina Carolina, to be precise. Used to have three of them running wild in my living room. Such fun to have them suddenly appear next to you or between an unsuspecting neighbor's feet! We'd race 'em, too, at the annual International Federation for the Advancement of Racing Turtles (seriously) meet in Chester, NJ. My Old Yeller and Queenie were advancing through the heats until they ran into Three-feet Pete (you can figure that one out) who never stopped running all day despite his handicap. Joe D. said it was all due to the steady pre-race diet of gunpowder and tabasco sauce! (Just kidding!) But, I digress . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
