After dessert, I'll take a sip of something upstairs and read either a book on English cottage gardens or make some headway in a book of short stories.

Then, after I set up the coffee for tomorrow morning (I think we'll have power), I'll read aloud to Tom before tucking him in and putting the house to bed. We're reading Richardson Wright's 1943 "The Bed-Book of Eating and Drinking", a true delight (as are all of Richardson Wright's books).

Not sure what I'll take upstairs to sip, maybe a bottle of Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. I don't like it with food, but I think it will go well as a nightcap.
