Subject: RE: Declutter & ~~Health~~ February 2013
A new goal is in the formation stage... last night, leaving the hockey game, I noticed my left hip/thigh muscles were feeling really weird. Tight? Sore? WTF? This is the thigh that had been numb since surgery; in recent weeks the tingles have told me that the cut nerves are regenerating. That also has always been my weaker side and 7 months of PT pre-surg did not change that because of the hanging flesh that impeded walking....
Then, post-surg PT didn't touch it, probably partly because with cut nerves I could not feel it well enough to get correct form to aim the force towards each individual muscle that needs to be strengthened, one muscle a time, in a workout.
But I DO know HOW to do it, at least for most of the area's musculature, from the attempts in pre-surg PT.
So-- starting later today I will add side-stepping out on the ramp, where the incline will play the role of leg weights to add resistance to the hip's working muscles. Right now, just from my 6 laps that hip is tight and complaining, so it is clearly calling for WORK to get it up to par with the right leg! I'll have to change my chart to add a slot for the stepping.... not sure yet how to quantify the stepping except by actual number of steps at first......
