Crisis averted, I think. Rather than trying to dig from the driveway, I dug down from the deck. (Yeah, right, with my knees...) Found the empty ash can. (Well, at least that's eliminated.) Then found and cleared the other one that is pretty much full. So if the oil delivery guy needs more traction (my neighbor did a decent job of sanding yesterday), we've got something pretty effective.

But I think that was my exertion for the day. Really want to take a nap, but I think I need to stay alert for the oil truck.

I'll call Jeri and see if she wants to try to get out.

My neighbor is coming back after 4 with more ashes, too.

Sigh. All of it will be covered up in this weekend's snow, of course...
