90% of all Catholics don't listen to what the pope says unless it is about the sacraments. So if you are not Catholic exactly how does it affect you.Other than just hating Catholics. Now taking that same logic do you think all Germans hate Jews because of their past sins. You can go on for centuries, how about what happened to the native Americans. Think about it every organization, political, religious, social, gathering, tribe anything by man is riddled with scandal.
