This is hardly a post-racial society, especially down here in the south, but in my lifetime I've seen a seismic shift in race relations, for the better. The recent easing of antipathy toward LGBTs gives me hope that we are still crawling forward, with the occasinal spurt, in spite of the best efforts of the mossbacks and fundamentalists.
