Subject: RE: BS: A coincidence I found amazing
I venture to revive this thread as some found it interesting and those who didn't can ignore it, to relate another which, like my OP, relates to printing off a Guardian Crossword from online. On Sundays, I have to go back in the archives to get my daily cruciverbal fix, and today I happened to fix on the Prize Crossword of Saturday 10 Jan 2010. The answer to once clue concerning "Coleridge's prison" was 'Lime-Tree Bower', a ref to a poem of Coleridge's that for some reason I had not come across previously. Ten minutes later, reading a feature on The World's Top 50 Museums from yesterday's [11 May 2013] The Times, I found that #40 was Coleridge Cottage in Somerset reviewed by Richard Holmes, who ended: "Don't miss the enchanting garden, where you can retreat to Coleridge's arbour and listen to a recording of the poem he wrote in its shade, This Lime-Tree Bower My Prison. Two refs within minutes in editions of two different newspapers published over three years apart to a poem I did not know previously. Not bad, as coincidences go!
