Most of the present information I have read places the original writing and performing of the original song around the early sixties. However, I was born in 1936 and remember quite vividly hearing the song on the radio by a blue grass band around 1942. The radio program was from the "Grand Ole Opry ".   I still have the song in my head and would like to find the earliest recording from that time.
