That would be about right, but I'd think that the 1st word in the 2nd line of the 2nd verse might be "paralytic", not "paraplegic", unless Hamish was making a play on words.
The "mascara" reference makes sense, but I absolutely guarantee that when I heard Hamish sing the song in the 80s, he sang about "cascara"in the 3rd verse.
