I think you need to consider why you want a band? Do you want it just for fun - the joy of making music with others - or do you want it as a semi proffessional - a CD + gigs. Having said that - some bands start as one thing and end up as another.
A lot of bands split up because of different ambitions.
I've seen ads in local music shops - might be worth a try.
You might consider joining a barn dance band with your flute - they are usually excellent musos too - and use them for non dance gigs.
What are you like at harmony singing? It adds variety if you can lead but also join in when the others are singing.
