I tried wearing my argyle socks inside out once, and it didn't work very well. They're not smooth on the inside - they have all those stringy, loopy things. My inside-out argyles got caught on a low-lying bush, and I landed on the macadam face-first, thus smashing my spectacles.
Not a pretty sight. Couldn't see at all, in fact.
