In all the years I've lived in England and Ireland I never heard anyone using the word "shitstorm". German linguists voted it "Anglicism of the year" in 2012 , according to the BBC report below . Is it widely in the US? You'd have thought that Angela Merkel, who used the term in a speech she made last week , would have at least changed the "storm" bit to "strom" to make it sound more authentically German . x
