The verdict, if just, should be based on the evidence presented, and not the fear of what might happen if the "wrong" verdict is rendered. That is what you have complained about happening in the past to black defendants: Are you so sure you want to establish it as being valid here as well? That would justify all those past trials as being "just as valid".
