Potatoes and chard from my garden for dinner tonight, along with a rotisserie chicken on sale from my local grocery store. Mmmm! Before picking my chard I checked out the garden and found another good-sized hole and pile of dirt (hole the size of a half-dollar). As I peered down at it, a little mouse face appeared in the opening and gazed back. There is now a hefty sprinkling of dog hair around that area, and in more of the garden. I'll also check to see if there are any reliable organic rodent repellents (the dogs are entirely organic but their reliability is questionable - they would destroy the garden in their happy pursuit of mice).

It rained again this morning. I think tomorrow is the last of the rain chance and then I can get out and weed and repel mice and grasshoppers.
