I used to do some medical entomology, so I know it's not that hard to identify adults with some training and good charts. Larvae aren't so easy.

I'm typing with an ice cube in a paper towel on my thumb, and it's not easy. I don't think think this is all that rare of an occurrence. You ever Look at something and think "I should put that away/disarm that/move it because I could get hurt." You try, and get hurt. I moved a mouse trap and intended to disarm it, and it bit me. It caught the skin/cuticle at the base of my thumb nail. If it had hit me full on, I'm pretty sure it would have broken my thumb and killed my nail, but I only had a hold of the sides. I'm not entirely sure I didn't hurt it by hitting the stone of the fireplace when I jumped.

Anyway: ow.

It's cooled down to 90.9F, which WUnderground tells me feels more like 105F. I'm fighting with little broun ants and mousetraps, and the last time I tried mowing the lawn, I gave up before I cut the grass in between the rows, so I have a lawn tattoo. If I knew I was gonna give up, I should have cone a crop circle/lawn maze. Too hot to give a shit.
